one: I’ve written two research papers and a 10 page sound event proposal in the last four days and am currently running on less than five hours of sleep. I still have one more research paper and a photo assignment between me and the end of this semester but I bought myself a pint of ice cream, which I plan to eat in its entirety in one sitting (don’t judge me), and I’m feeling up to the challenge.
two: I’ve been listening to nothing but Bruce Springsteen and Prince recently. Nothing else. It took me years to get into both these artists and I’m not sure if I’m making up for lost time, but I can’t control myself. In fact, I’d say that they make up at least 90% of the music I’ve listened to in the last three or four years. I can’t stop.
three: I’ve been binge watching the following: Curb Your Enthusiasm (how did it take me this long to finally watch this because it’s fantastic and I can’t get enough), It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (forgot how funny this show was because it’s been years since I last watched it), and Extras (really easy to re-watch this and it’ll never not be cringe-worthy funny).
four: I’ve grown quite fond of someone over the last few months, which took me by complete surprise, and it’s kind of unnerving. I’ve also managed to forget how to communicate/flirt/pursue someone I’m attracted to so the whole situation has been so strange and uncertain but I like him enough that I’m willing to try and that, in itself, is really refreshing.
five: finished reading the following (and if you haven’t read these I recommend you do so): “Night Film” by Marisha Pessl, “How Music Works” by David Byrne, and “A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again; Essays And Arguments” by David Foster Wallace
six: I took a bath today. a god damn bath. I haven’t taken a bath in YEARS and it was so relaxing and awesome. There’s a lot of things about our new apartment that I love and the ability to take a bath has just become one of them.
A mix I made for the holiday season. Just press play and, as always, enjoy.
